Aileron has grown to become one of the largest and most active alternative lenders in the nation, with a heavy focus on SBA 504 loans and construction lending. We have been the creator and developer of unique and innovative new loan products that utilize multiple government programs, including EB-5, USDA, SBA, and New Markets Tax Credits, to fund small business growth and create jobs. Since 2010, Aileron has closed in excess of $600 million in commercial loans, which has in turn created more than 5,000 jobs.
In addition to building a robust lending platform, Aileron has also become a significant developer of multifamily, mixed-use, and senior housing projects in Florida. We take a very hand-on approach to development, handling all aspects of the development process, from site selection and entitlement, all the way through completion of construction and stabilization. Since 2012, our development portfolio has grown to over $200 million in total value.

Michael Maguire - Managing Director
Mr. Maguire has 15 years of audit, management and investment banking experience. He began his career as an auditor with the Tampa office of Arthur Andersen in 2000, and moved into
investment banking after accepting a position at Citigroup’s middle-market investment banking division. While at Citi, Mr. Maguire focused on originating, executing and advising on middle-market transactions.
After leaving Citigroup, Mr. Maguire joined LCG Capital Group (“LCG”), a Tampa-based boutique investment banking firm. At LCG, Mr. Maguire worked on M&A transactions, debt and equity raises, including SBA 504 and 7 (a) loans, and was responsible for the financial modeling and analysis of the transactions. Mr. Maguire graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, earning a B.B.A. in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accountancy. Mr. Maguire is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida (non-active) and holds FINRA/NASD Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
Robert K. Beard - Principal
Mr. Beard has over 30 years of audit, management and lending experience. Mr. Beard started his career with the Tampa office of Deloitte & Touche in 1983 where he served as an audit manager and achieved
the industry specialist designation in the banking, savings & loan and mortgage banking industries. In 1991, he founded the Tampa CPA firm of Beard & Kingery (now Kingery and Crouse, CPAs). In 1998, Mr. Beard founded EnviroCap, LLC and has since also founded Aileron Holdings, LLC, and Aegis Business Credit, LLC. Since 1998, these companies have funded over $1.5 billion in loans, generating over $40 million in profits and providing its investors a combined average annualized return on equity in excess of 30%.
Mr. Beard graduated from Florida State University in 1983 where he double majored in accounting and finance, with a minor in economics. He has been a licensed CPA in the state of Florida since 1984.
Steve Anderson - Principal
Mr. Anderson has over 30 years’ experience in the finance and construction/development industries. Prior to forming Aileron Capital Management, Mr. Anderson was the CFO and Chief Risk Manager
of Environmental Chemical Corporation (ECC) (www.ecc.net), a Top 100 U.S. Defense construction and remediation contractor. While at ECC, Mr. Anderson managed all financial and cost control activities, ensuring cost compliance on all federal and private contracts.
Mr. Anderson has a BS in Accountancy and a BA in Computer Science from Valparaiso University, and attended the Program for Senior Financial Executives at Harvard Business School. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the Construction Financial Management Association.
Michael Allan - Vice President
Michael Allan, Vice President, Michael Allan is Vice President of Development & Opportunistic Investments at Aileron, and responsible for the origination and analysis of high yield transactions, which includes short-term bridge
Mr. Allan has over 12 years of diversified commercial and residential real estate experience. He began his career as loan officer with the New York office of Joseph Scott Financial, and eventually moved into a management role after accepting a position at the firm’s Florida office. While at Joseph Scott, Mr. Allan focused on originating, processing, underwriting and servicing residential and commercial mortgages, with a focus on construction loans.
Mr. Allan attended Montclair State University in New Jersey, and is a licensed mortgage broker.
Hao Kien - Vice President
Hao Kien has over 10 years of commercial banking experience. Mr. Kien has extensive experience within commercial banking, real estate lending and M&A. His role at Aileron includes new business development
and credit underwriting, as well as advising clients with respect to capital structure, financing options, and strategic growth plans.
Prior to joining Aileron, Mr. Kien was a VP within Commercial Banking at Regions Bank, where he was responsible for new client acquisition and portfolio growth within C&I Banking, Restaurant Franchise and Government and Institutional Banking. Mr. Kien obtained his B.S. in MIS with a minor in Accounting from University of South Florida.
Nasser Al-Hafi - Portfolio Manager
Nasser Al-Hafi is the Portfolio Manager for Aileron Investment Management. In this capacity, Mr. Al-Hafi is responsible for the servicing of the company’s construction loan and bridge loan portfolios.
In addition to loan servicing, Mr. Al-Hafi assists with the underwriting and analysis of newly originated commercial loans.
Prior to joining the Aileron team, Nasser worked for Chase Bank as a Relationship Manager, where he was responsible for the procurement of new client relationships, including depository relationships and investment accounts. Before working at Chase, Mr. Al-Hafi worked for Standard Chartered Bank in Dubai, UAE as an analyst.
Mr. Al-Hafi graduated with a BS in Finance from the University of Tampa, and currently holds FINRA/NASD Series 6, and 2-14 licenses.
Lindsey Bartley - Credit Analyst
Lindsey Bartley recently joined Aileron Investment Management as a commercial credit analyst. Lindsey assists in the processing and underwriting of the Company's commercial real estate loans,
focusing on borrower/guarantor cash flow analysis, appraisal reviews, and SBA/USDA eligibility requirements.
Prior to joining the Aileron team, Lindsey worked as a Senior Analyst at Ryan, LLC, where she was responsible for the review of commercial property FMV assessments, and the filing of petitions to the Value Adjustment Boards of 23 Florida Counties. Additionally, Lindsey worked with multi-state companies in procuring state and local tax incentive programs, including identifying, applying and securing applicable credit and incentive programs.
Lindsey graduated from University of Missouri with a BA in Communications.
